The Olympic Trial time standard can only be achieved in a long course pool. This meet takes place every four years, the most recent being 2016. Time standards are announced approximately two years prior to the Olympic Trial meet; however, for the 2016 Trials, times achieved within the 36 months (3 years) prior to Olympic Trials are valid for qualifying (i.e. fall within the qualifying window).
